John Rosenthal Discusses How U.S. Data Privacy Laws Challenge the E-Discovery Process
April 17, 2012
Winston & Strawn litigation partner John Rosenthal, based in the firm’s D.C. office, discussed U.S. data privacy laws and e-discovery process in the April 17, 2012, exterro webcast, “U.S. Data Privacy Laws Challenge the E-Discovery Process.”
The webcast discussed how new U.S. data privacy laws are adding additional challenges for legal teams. “There historically have not been that many laws on the books to protect individuals’ privacy,” said Mr. Rosenthal during the presentation. “That all is in a fundamental shift. We are seeing both at the federal and the state level not just the adoption of new laws but the interpretation of existing laws, statutes and provisions to provide for greater privacy over individuals’ information.”
David Sorenson from Hinshaw & Culbertson joined Mr. Rosenthal in the webcast.
