January 7, 2026
In a context of structural strain on the French healthcare system—marked by social security deficits, pressure on hospitals, shortages of healthcare professionals, and territorial inequalities in access to care—the role of private investment in the healthcare sector is the subject of growing debate.
To contribute to these discussions, Winston Paris partnered with Décideurs Magazine, to organize a closed-door roundtable that brought together key stakeholders from the healthcare sector. Partners Gilles Bigot and Julie Vern Cesano-Gouffrant led and moderated the discussion alongside their invited guests.
The exchange focused on whether public funding alone is sufficient to meet all the needs of the healthcare system, as well as on the potential impact that a reduction—or even a prohibition—of private investment could have on the organization and availability of healthcare services.
The discussion facilitated a cross-fertilization of perspectives from practitioners, executives, investors, advisors, and expert lawyers, exploring several avenues, notably in terms of transparency, regulatory stability, and best investment practices in the healthcare sector.
Thank you to François Pelen (Point Vision), Emmanuel de Geuser (Vivalto Santé), Filippo Monteleone (CAREIT), and Patrick Biecheler (Natixis Partners) for their participation and insights.
