On November 11, we welcomed 24 new protégés the firm’s D&I Associate Sponsorship Program, which is the centerpiece of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee’s efforts to retain, develop, and promote associates. Each year, we pair high-potential and high-performing members of the firm’s 10 affinity groups—in their fifth and sixth year of practice—with a member of Winston’s Executive Committee.

The full-day, kick-off event in New York included the following:

  • Welcome from Winston Chair Steve D’Amore
  • Program overview by John Selim Tschirgi, Diversity & Inclusion Manager and former protégé
  • How I Cover at Work: Leveraging Authenticity for Personal and Professional Success by Sylvia James, Winston’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer
  • How to Make the Most of Being a Protégé by Morenike Williams, Founder and CEO of Revision Coaching
  • Panel discussion with former protégés: Ashely Dumoff, Michelle Tuma, and Marianna Wonder.
  • Preparing for Your First Meeting by Diane Costigan, Winston’s Director of Coaching and Well-Being.

Incoming Class of 2024-2025

The following day, we celebrated the graduating Class of 2023-2024 at a half-day event, which included the following:

  • Opening remarks by Sylvia James, Winston’s Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer
  • Partnership Memo and Carrying the Sponsorship Relationship Forward by Diane Costigan, Winston’s Director of Coaching and Well-Being.
  • Finding Your Influence and Making an Impact; and Defining Your Edge and Navigating Success by Michael Coston, Founder and CEO of Coston Consulting.
