Scott is a litigator who focuses his practice on intellectual property matters. He represents technology-industry clients throughout the patent trial and appeal process and uses his background in computer science and prior engineering experience as a U.S. Naval Officer to resolve the complex problems faced by his clients. Scott’s technical, trial, and appellate experience has positioned him as a go-to attorney for inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and district court litigation.

Scott is an intellectual property litigator in Winston’s Washington, DC office. He focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation at the trial and appellate level, where he helps companies in diverse high technology fields—including consumer electronics, software, and wireless communications. Scott also has extensive experience representing clients in complex administrative proceedings at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where he has tried more than 100 inter partes review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Prior to entering the practice of law, Scott served for five years as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy, where he worked as an electrical engineering officer and navigator.
