Waleed Alkoor focuses his practice on financial services regulation, corporate structuring, intellectual property, and technology-driven legal matters. He has experience advising on regulatory compliance, international transactions, startup formation, and blockchain initiatives, with an emphasis on helping clients and teams navigate complex legal and regulatory frameworks.

During his internship with White & Case LLP, he conducted research on EU directives related to Non-Performing Loan (NPL) regulations and their implementation across member states, and prepared client newsletters. He also reviewed corporate documents to identify ownership interests and capital contributions and assisted in preparing reports for regulatory agencies related to acquisitions of substantial company shares. He also contributed to an automated project designed to streamline memo drafting for regulated financial institutions and supported an investment firm seeking licensing for a Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF) to exchange tokenized securities under new distributed ledger technology regulations.

Earlier in his career, Waleed combined legal and entrepreneurial expertise. At Start.law, he strengthened international startups’ IP portfolios through USPTO trademark filings, drafted operating and separation agreements to reduce legal risks, and guided founders on fundraising using SAFE documents. Prior to this, he co-founded CoreTech Mining in western North Carolina, a blockchain validation and hosting startup, where he built and maintained validation processors for clients nationwide, negotiated supplier terms, pitched solutions to customers, and collaborated with academic institutions.
