Co-founder of Winston & Strawn’s WacoWatch Blog, Danielle Williams Discusses Trends in the Western District of Texas with Managing IP

Recently, Managing IP interviewed Danielle Williams, co-founder of Winston & Strawn’s WacoWatch blog regarding trends in the Western District of Texas. As discussed in the article and on our WacoWatch blog, the Western District of Texas continues to be attractive to patent owners and Judge Albright continues to update his Order Governing Proceedings providing transparency to litigants.

In January, Judge Albright updated his Order Governing Proceedings, in particular giving guidance to litigants on how to prepare their cases for trial. “For those of us who are trying cases, it certainly gives us guidance at the outset of what we can expect from the court in terms of evidence and any kinds of limitations on that,” she said. She noted that Winston tried a case in August in the Western District of Texas and the updates in the OGP are consistent with her experience in that trial, which was a complete defense win for Winston’s client.
