For several years running, Winston has been the lead sponsor of the University of Michigan Law School’s 1L Oral Advocacy Competition, which provides 1L students with an introduction into moot court and helps them learn about courtroom advocacy and sharpen their public speaking skills.

Chicago Office Managing Partner Linda Coberly (Michigan ’95) who chairs the firm’s Appellate and Critical Motions Practice and Chicago Litigation Associate Ryan Dunigan provided oral advocacy tips and tricks during the 2019 competition kick-off presentation held on January 23.

Winston attorneys also enjoyed participating in various training opportunities with the students throughout the competition, which concluded with a final round on March 18 where Linda Coberly once again served as a judge. She is pictured above (right) with her fellow judges and the competition’s winner and runner-up.

Our firm had the opportunity to interact with more talented Michigan law students at Meet the Employers Night on February 27. Tim Kincaid, Matt Langhorst (Michigan ’15), Sarah Krajewski, and Lauren Duxstad greeted attendees who stopped by our suite at Michigan Stadium.

Visit the Law Students site for more information about Winston’s summer associate program.
