Winston & Strawn partners Mike Roche and Steven Gavin were among the speakers during Northwestern University School of Law's 50th Corporate Counsel Institute on October 5-6, 2011 in Chicago. This Institute focused on current developments and legal updates, as well as provided a unique look at the regulatory environment and its impact on business.
Mr. Roche participated on a panel titled, "Ethical Considerations of the Duty of Confidentiality and Loyalty in the Whistleblower Era." Joining him on the panel was Stanley Ferguson, Executive Vice President and General Counsel at USG Corporation, Chicago Wendy Muchman, Chief of Litigation and Professional Education with ARDC of Illinois, Chicago and Thomas E. O'Neill, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of TreeHouse Foods, Inc.
Mr. Gavin's panel titled, "Approaches to Corporate Financing and Acquisitions in the Current Capital Markets" addressed:
- Financing market update;
- M&A market overview; and
- trends and developments in financing and M&A.
Todd Kaplan, Executive Vice Chairman of Global Investment Banking from Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Banking and John MacCarthy, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary with Nuveen Investments were the other featured panelists.
