Blockfusion Enters into Business Combination with Blue Acquisition Corp.
Winston & Strawn LLP represents Blockfusion, the owner-operator of a strategically located, clean-energy-powered data center, in its announced business combination with Blue Acquisition Corp., a publicly traded special purpose acquisition company. The transaction attributes a pre-money equity value of approximately USD 450 million to Blockfusion and would result in Blockfusion becoming a publicly traded company upon listing.

Nscale Forms $1 Billion AI Data Center Joint Venture with Aker
Winston & Strawn LLP represented Nscale Global Holdings Ltd. in connection with the formation of a 50/50 joint venture with Aker ASA to develop Stargate Norway, a $1 billion AI data center project in partnership with OpenAI. The facility will be located near Narvik, Northern Norway, and will be powered entirely by renewable hydropower.

After an eleven-day bench trial in January 2023, the N.D. Ill. delivered a full defense verdict in March 2025 in an ERISA class action brought by participants in Segerdahl Corporation’s ESOP. The court rejected the class claims against Segerdahl, its ESOP trustee GreatBanc Trust Company, and various individual defendants including board members Bob Cronin, Rod Goldstein, and Peter Mason, alleging that Segerdahl could have sold for a significantly higher price, which would have increased post-sale distributions to the ESOP participants. Winston earned an Am Law Litigator of the Week Shout Out for this win.

What Is Data Breach and Data Security Law?
Within 48 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, data breach and data security laws require organizations and government agencies to provide notifications of security breaches when they involve personally identifiable information. The phrase “big data” may also refer to the processing techniques that an organization employs to manage the huge, complex, or time-sensitive sets of information it receives.
