Winston squared off in the W.D.N.C. against lawyers for NASCAR in an antitrust lawsuit brought on behalf of racing teams Front Row Motorsports Inc. and 23X1 Racing LLC—the team co-owned by Michael Jordan and driver Denny Hamlin—alleging monopolization of the market for premier stock car racing teams. On December 11, 2025, nine days into trial and the morning after the plaintiffs rested their case, the parties jointly announced a settlement. Winston received an Am Law Litigator of the Week Shout Out for securing a ruling knocking out US$300M in claims against the former board of managers of Verano Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Verano Holdings Corp., one of the country’s largest publicly traded cannabis companies. Delaware Vice Chancellor J. Travis Laster dismissed a lawsuit brought by former minority shareholders in Verano Holdings finding the plaintiffs lost standing to bring such derivative claims after the combination that resulted in the public company took hold. Winston Scores Decisive Victory in Case Against Nation’s Largest Credit Reporting and Scoring Companies

Winston and co-counsel helped the three major credit bureaus—Equifax, TransUnion and Experian—defeat claims they colluded with credit score provider FICO to cause consumers to overpay for credit scores. U.S. District Judge Edmond Chang in the N. D. Ill. found that the plaintiffs hadn’t adequately alleged that the credit bureaus entered into a conspiracy to further FICO’s alleged monopoly and dismissed the claims against them with prejudice. SEC and CFTC Propose Changes to Reduce Form PF Reporting Burdens

On April 20, 2026, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) (collectively, the Commissions) jointly proposed amendments to Form PF (the Proposal) that, if adopted, would significantly reduce reporting burdens for private fund advisers. The Proposal would largely unwind the comprehensive amendments to Form PF adopted in February 2024 (the 2024 Amendments) before the October 1, 2026 compliance date, primarily by increasing filing thresholds and eliminating or streamlining a number of reporting requirements.
