Stephanie represents clients in a variety of internal investigations, government enforcement, white collar, and complex commercial litigation matters for financial institutions, health care industry partners, and other companies.

Stephanie assists clients in navigating investigations involving potential regulatory, criminal, and civil violations. Stephanie concentrates her practice on white collar criminal defense, internal investigations, compliance reviews, and regulatory enforcement. Stephanie’s clients include individuals and companies in the financial services and health care and life sciences industries. Stephanie has represented clients in matters in front of the DOJ, CFPB, and SEC.

At Winston, Stephanie focuses her pro bono efforts on representing non-profit organizations in their civil rights work and assisting senior residents of North Carolina with drafting and executing simple wills, powers of attorney, and advance directives.

Stephanie was recognized in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America in the areas of Criminal Defense: White-Collar and Litigation - Banking and Finance.

Stephanie was selected to represent Winston in the 2024 LCLD Pathfinders Program. In 2023, she was recognized in the National Black Lawyers' Top 40 under 40.

Stephanie serves on Winston’s Associate Committee, Pro Bono Committee, and Summer Program Committee, and serves as a DEI Ambassador. She is also a member of Winston’s Black Lawyers’ Network.

Stephanie was previously co-chair of the Civic Engagement Committee for the North Carolina Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division and is a member of the North Carolina State Bar and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association.

Education

Stephanie received her J.D. from Duke Law School in 2020, where she was programming director of the Black Law Student Association, a 2L fellow for the Center for Race Law and Politics, an education policy research assistant, and the co-founder of Duke Law’s North Carolina Club. Prior to attending law school, Stephanie was an assistant teacher at a local non-profit after-school program and completed an internship at the Tubman African American Museum—both in Macon, Georgia. Stephanie graduated, magna cum laude, from the University of Georgia in 2016 with a B.A. in political science and a double-minor in women’s studies and African American studies.
