JC is a standout patent litigator whose practice centers on high-stakes Section 337 investigations before the U.S. International Trade Commission, particularly those involving cutting-edge and rapidly evolving technologies.

Drawing on more than a decade of experience before the ITC—including two-dozen investigations and a dozen trials—JC is known for developing technically rigorous, trial‑ready strategies that resonate with Administrative Law Judges and withstand scrutiny on appeal.

JC has acted for both complainants and respondents across the ITC’s most competitive industry sectors—including automotive, semiconductors, telecommunications, medical devices, social media, and cable technologies. With a graduate degree in computer science and a deep background in semiconductor architecture, computer systems, and complex software, he is frequently sought out for highly complex matters involving specialized technologies. JC is known for his ability to translate intricate technical concepts into compelling legal narratives, and for partnering closely with engineers and expert witnesses to shape infringement, invalidity, and claim‑construction positions from the outset of a case through trial.

JC also frequently represents clients in patent matters before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and in district courts, handling both challenges and defenses to patent validity arising from inter partes review petitions and arguing numerous Markman hearings.

In addition to his litigation practice, JC speaks at industry conferences and law schools on patent litigation trends, the evolving role of the ITC, and best practices for presenting complex technical evidence.
