Sydney is a litigation associate in the firm’s Washington, DC office where she focuses her practice on advising clients in a variety of complex litigation and investigative matters across the firm’s white-collar defense and investigations, antitrust and competition, appellate and critical motions, and labor and employment practice groups. Sydney has drafted and argued a wide range of litigation and trial materials, including high-stakes motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, and discovery motions. 

Sydney has practiced in a variety of district and appellate federal and state courts and agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. She has drafted appellate briefs and petitions for certiorari before the U.S. Supreme Court and the Second and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeals, and she regularly interacts with the U.S. Department of Justice. 

Sydney maintains an active pro bono practice representing immigrants and detainees in asylum and conditions of confinement actions. In recognition of her pro bono service, Sydney was named to the D.C. Bar’s 2024 and 2025 Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll. Prior to joining the firm, Sydney was a legal intern at the Alexandria Public Defender’s Office in Virginia and the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the District of Arizona. She is a former legislative intern at the U.S. Senate and volunteer at the Colorado Office of the Alternate Defense Counsel.

Sydney earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. She received her B.A., summa cum laude, in Philosophy and Political Science with a minor in Spanish from Boston University.
