Bailey concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation. She has experience representing clients from a wide range of industries in both state and federal court. Her diverse experience and attention to detail enables her to be effective and efficient in her practice.

 

Bailey represents clients in a wide array of industries. In addition to complex commercial litigation, Bailey has experience defending class actions, securities cases, and antitrust lawsuits. She has experience in all phases of litigation in state and federal courts around the country and is well-versed in developing claims and defenses, conducting legal research, drafting dispositive motions, managing all aspects of discovery, preparing witnesses for and defending depositions, and preparing for trial and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Bailey also regularly counsels clients in responding to third-party discovery requests.

Key Matters

Bailey’s notable past engagements include:

  • Defended a major financial services company against breach of contract and common law tort claims, obtaining dismissal of all claims on a motion to dismiss
  • Obtaining dismissal of consumer fraud claims under the Illinois Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act and antitrust claims against a professional specialty board in the Northern District of Illinois on a motion to dismiss
  • Defeating class certification in a shareholder class action related to a transaction between a medical device and health care products company where the claims reached over $1 billion
  • Representing a global investment manager against tortious interference, negligent misrepresentation, and state antitrust claims through a trial.  The court denied the plaintiffs’ request for a permanent injunction

Bailey was recognized in the 2025 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America in the area Mass Tort Litigation / Class Actions - Defendants.

Bailey is also active in the firm’s pro bono program, representing individuals seeking asylum, those with previous convictions seeking Certificates of Good Conduct to aid in their employment search, and individuals seeking protection orders. She also regularly serves as a volunteer at the Legal Aid Chicago Clinic, assisting clients with a variety of legal issues. Prior to joining Winston, Bailey served as a Public Interest Law Initiative Graduate Fellow with the Loyola Community Law Clinic. She worked as a Guardian ad litem for children of low income families to ensure they were in safe and caring homes.

While in law school, Bailey was a member of the Loyola Law Journal and the American Lawyer’s Association moot court team. She was also a fellow in Loyola’s Institute for Consumer Antitrust Studies and served as a volunteer for the American Bar Association monitoring and writing about state antitrust and consumer law developments.
