Winston & Strawn was proud to sponsor and participate in the American Fintech Council’s 9th annual Policy Summit in Washington, D.C.—a landmark event bringing together bank, fintech, and digital assets leaders, legislators, and regulators for conversations shaping the future of financial services.

This year’s summit was the largest yet, with 400+ attendees from 250+ companies nationwide and 50+ speakers, including influential voices from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), the U.S. Treasury, members of the U.S. House Committee on Financial Services, and dozens of CEOs and compliance leaders. The scale and depth of discussions underscore how essential collaboration is to driving innovation and smart regulation.

Partners Juan Azel, chair of the FinTech, Banking & Payments Group, and Carl Fornaris, chair of the Financial Innovation & Regulation Practice, played key roles in the program. Juan moderated the panel “FDIC on Modern Banking and Regulation: Open Dialogue, Open Books, Open Banking” featuring Travis Hill, acting chairman of the FDIC, in a candid discussion on transparency, modernization, and regulatory priorities. Later, Juan and Carl delivered closing remarks, reflecting on the insights shared and opportunities ahead.
