Maritime Partner Bryant Gardner Quoted by Politico
June 5, 2012
Winston & Strawn maritime partner Bryant Gardner was quoted in the June 5, 2012 Politico article titled “Farm bill troubles could hit maritime industry.”
The article discusses the impact upon the U.S.-flag fleet of proposed cuts to export shipments of U.S. commodities under international food aid programs, including the flagship PL 480 Food for Peace program.
“There is a real and tangible movement to go away from American commodities,” said Mr. Gardner. “Their elimination or scaling down would be disastrous for the U.S. merchant marine and sealift capabilities, as well as the fight against food insecurity.”
Bryant Gardner is a partner in Winston & Strawn’s Washington, D.C. office who concentrates his practice in admiralty and maritime issues.
