John Rosenthal Discusses Winston’s eDiscovery & Information Governance Practice
December 21, 2015
eDiscovery & Information Governance Practice Chair John Rosenthal is featured in Legaltech News’ December 21, 2015, article “Winston & Strawn’s Rosenthal Talks Building a Firm E-Discovery Consultancy.” In the profile, Mr. Rosenthal discusses the growth and structure of the firm’s eDiscovery group, explaining that the model Winston uses for eDiscovery is a full-service consulting shop behind its own firewall.
Mr. Rosenthal explains that the firm has been able to grow its eDiscovery practice by “demonstrating that our quality has been above the marketplace, which is our goal, and our pricing is below the marketplace.”
Over the past year, Winston has shifted its focus from providing “vendor” capabilities to offering eDiscovery capabilities to cases the firm does not actively work on. With a mix of 26 technicians, 22 eDiscovery lawyers, and two data centers (with 150 terabytes of production data), the firm has a unique advantage.
Mr. Rosenthal explains that the firm will continue to innovate as other firms provide similar offerings. “I don’t want to lag behind others; I want to be out where the technology’s heading.”
