Compliance Roundtable Breakfast

On March 6, 2018, Winston & Strawn’s Global Privacy & Data Security Task Force presented a Compliance Roundtable Breakfast in Lake Bluff, Illinois. 

Partner Steve Grimes, former Fortune 500 chief compliance officer, led the morning program to discuss the role of legal and compliance officers in protecting against trade secret theft. Steve was joined in conversation by Raj Laud, Assistant U.S. Attorney, Deputy Chief, National Security and Cybercrimes Section of the Northern District of Illinois.

They discussed the rise in trade secret litigation and liability, theft by insiders (incoming and departing employees), dealing with law enforcement in trade secret theft scenarios, and who within companies is looking at these issues holistically.

The discussion included local compliance professionals, employment attorneys, intellectual property attorneys, litigators, and other in-house leaders who protect their companies’ assets.
