Amandeep Sidhu Wins Inaugural W&M Asian Centennial Award

Winston & Strawn Partner Amandeep S. Sidhu received one of the inaugural William & Mary (W&M) Asian Centennial Awards honoring influential Asian and Asian American W&M alumni.

Along with other notable accolades, Amandeep was recognized for being a co-founder of the Sikh Coalition—the largest Sikh advocacy organization in the United States, created in the aftermath of 9/11. He has served as lead counsel in an ongoing effort to assist more than 60 Sikh Americans in obtaining religious accommodations from the U.S. military that would permit them to serve while maintaining full beards and turbans—their religiously mandated articles of faith. Amandeep has also led lobbying efforts in Congress regarding hate crimes, profiling, and workplace and public accommodation discrimination.
