More than 20 women attorneys from Winston’s Chicago office attended a luncheon panel on March 12 hosted by the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI). The panel presented an informative “how-to” session on how best to become involved in community and legal boards and organizations.

Winston attorney Linda Coberly, along with former Chief Attorney Development Officer Paula Holderman, were joined by Monica Metzler, founder and executive director of the Illinois Science Counsel (and a Winston alum) to discuss their individual experiences serving on boards and to share tips on how to get involved. While each of the panelists had varied paths to and reasons for their board involvement, all stressed the importance of choosing an organization that aligns with one’s passion and doing due diligence to clearly understand time and financial commitments before joining.

Paula Holderman, Julie Bauer, Monica Metzler, and Christine Edwards participated in the WLI panel on board involvement.
