Winston’s London office recently held its 2017 Summer Vacation Scheme, where for two weeks, 13 law students experienced life as a lawyer at an international law firm. The scheme provides students who wish to apply for a firm training contract with hands-on experience across various practice areas. The students are also given valuable exposure to how the London office operates.

Throughout the program, students were involved in various workshops, presentations, trainings, work assignments, and social events. This year’s scheme included a night at Flight Club, a social darts venue that puts a modern twist on traditional darts through real-time, animated scoring, so no need for math or chalkboards! Students showed off their competitive edge in this great, friendly setting. The program also included an evening at Swingers—an indoor golf course at the bottom of London’s famous Gherkin building. Based on a 1920’s golf club in the bucolic English countryside, Swingers features two bespoke nine-hole courses. Both events were attended by the students, staff, trainees, associates, and partners, and provided fun networking opportunities.
