Winston’s Summer Associate Program in our Texas offices kicked off on June 24, and we have officially welcomed all eight members of our 2017 class in Houston and Dallas.

Over the next six weeks, the law students will have the opportunity to work with and learn from some of the country’s leading litigation and transactional attorneys while experiencing Houston and Dallas through a variety of social and civic activities.

In Houston, the summers sampled the food and drink of the city with a tour and tasting at the 8th Wonder Brewery on June 29 and a cooking class at Brennan’s on July 7 (pictured below). Other social events planned in Houston include a casino night, a bowling party, and an all-office dinner at the home of the managing partner.

The Dallas program began with a welcome reception on July 5 at The Happiest Hour. The students will have more opportunities throughout the summer to get to know the Dallas office and its attorneys, including an all-office dinner party at the home of the managing partner and a Fiesta event at the home of another of the partners.

Winston entered the Texas legal market in 2011 with the opening of our Houston office, and was named a finalist in Houston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work Awards. The 2017 expansion of our footprint in Texas was described in the press as a “seismic shift” in Dallas legal circles.

This entry has been created for information and planning purposes. It is not intended to be, nor should it be substituted for, legal advice, which turns on specific facts.
