Firm Bids Fond Farewell to 2018 Summer Associates

As the summer program comes to a close in many of our offices, members of our 2018 summer associate class are heading back to law school with the new skills, experiences, and relationships they gained at Winston. Highlights and photos from farewell events across the firm include:

• Charlotte summer associates enjoyed a night of bowling at Strike City on July 19 to commemorate the close of the program.
• Chicago summers took in a Cubs baseball game from the Brixen Ivy rooftop on July 19. The rain held off and “W” flags were raised for the hometown team.
• There was much mingling and dancing at the annual end of summer party in Los Angeles on July 13. The summer associates celebrated at Senior Counsel Jerry Bloom’s West Hollywood home with the city skyline as a backdrop.
• In New York, the summers had lunch with members of the summer committee at Peter Lugers Steakhouse on July 17 and had a chance to say goodbye to all of the attorneys at Roof at Park South on July 19.
• The July 19 summer Farewell Fiesta in San Francisco featured street tacos and a margarita and sangria bar tended by the office’s recruiting manager.
• Washington, D.C. summer associates played Craps, Texas Hold’em, Blackjack, and Roulette at their farewell Casino Night held July 19 at Rosa Mexicana. At the end of the night, attendees cashed in their tokens for chances to win a variety of raffle prizes.

In addition to these farewell events, the Dallas and Houston offices recently hosted the following summer program events. The summer program will conclude for the Texas offices in early August.

• On July 17, Dallas hosted a “Chopped” style cooking competition with secret cooking ingredients. The winning recipe was shrimp tacos with homemade tortillas.
• Houston summers took a break from the hot weather by hitting the ice for the 1^stAnnual Houston Curling event held on July 17. Participants worked together in two teams to move their stones closer to the center of the house.
