Firm Bids Fond Farewell to 2017 Summer Associates

As the summer program comes to a close in many of our offices, members of our 2017 summer associate class are heading back to law school with the new skills, experiences, and relationships they gained at Winston. Here are some highlights and photos from recent farewell events from across the firm:
Charlotte summer associates enjoyed a farewell happy hour in their honor on July 20 at Blackfinn Ameripub.
Chicago summers enjoyed a boat cruise aboard Chicago’s Fair Lady. The weather held out for the fireworks, but everyone got soaked (but still had a great time) on their way home.
Los Angeles had a fun 80s-themed party hosted at Senior Counsel Jerry Bloom’s West Hollywood home. Attendees dressed in their best retro outfits and danced to the DJ’s tunes while enjoying breathtaking views of the city of Los Angeles.
New York summer associates had lunch with their mentors and hiring committee members on July 18 in the fountain room at Avra Celebrate, and had a chance to say goodbye to all of the attorneys in the office at a reception on July 20 at La Fonda Del Sol.
San Francisco celebrated their summer associates with a Farewell Fiesta in the office. Followed by drinks at Tonga Room, a Tiki-themed bar and lounge, hosted by Partner Bob Julian.
Washington, D.C. hosted a Casino Night at Rosa Mexicano in the District where our summer associates, attorneys, and their guests enjoyed blackjack, craps, roulette, and poker.
In addition to these farewell events, the Dallas and Houston offices recently hosted the following summer program events. The summer program will conclude for the Texas offices in early August.
Dallas hosted a dinner honoring the Dallas summer associates at the home of Partner Tom Melsheimer. It was a lovely warm Texas evening and everyone enjoyed specialty mojitos and dinner in the backyard while listening to a Latin guitarist.
Houston had a Casino Night at the Bell Tower, where our summer associates, attorneys, and their guests tried their luck at blackjack, roulette, craps, and, of course, Texas hold’em.
