Winston’s Los Angeles office is deeply committed to giving back to the community. Through pro bono work, volunteer initiatives, and charitable activities, our attorneys wholeheartedly support the firm’s pro bono efforts, going above and beyond with a 100 percent contribution of 20 or more pro bono hours per year. An example of the impact of our commitment to pro bono is a case where we secured a favorable settlement for our client who had been incarcerated in harsh conditions for three months before charges of being an accessory to murder were dropped for lack of evidence.

Furthermore, our office actively participates in various initiatives, including weekly reading sessions with children at Leo Politi Elementary School through our partnership with Read to a Child, fundraising and pro bono service for Learning Rights Law Center’s Raising the Bar for Education Challenge, the Food from the Bar campaign benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA Stair Climb. Additionally, we prioritize environmental efforts, maintaining an office compost system and participating in the removal of trash and recyclables along our beaches as part of Winston’s Earth Week campaign.

SUMMER ASSOCIATE PROGRAM

The Los Angeles office provides Summer Associates with formal hands-on training through attorney-led workshops that cover legal writing, corporate negotiations, and arguing a motion. In addition, Summer Associates gain in-depth insights into the firm’s Transactions and Litigation Practices through department-sponsored happy hours. The Los Angeles office also hosts several summer program social events, which have included a Dodgers game, a Hollywood Treasure Hunt, and a day trip to Disneyland. It’s the perfect balance of learning, networking, and unforgettable experiences!
