Winston & Strawn partner Brad Vaiana, who serves as co-chair of Winston & Strawn's global private equity practice, was named a "Rising Star" by the New York Law Journal.

Mr. Vaiana, a key deal maker at the firm, has advised on more than 30 transactions over the past 12 months. "One measure of success is getting a deal across the finish line. There is nothing like closing day, when signatures are released and wires are moving," he said.

Mr. Vaiana provides counsel across a broad spectrum of corporate transactions, including structuring, negotiating and executing leveraged buyouts and joint ventures. He represents publicly held and privately held companies and private equity investors in the management of their portfolio in connection with a variety of commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, employment matters, corporate reorganizations and other commercial transactions. His clients include investments funds, hedge funds, family offices and lending institutions.

The New York Law Journal also highlighted his pro bono and civic work, including co-founding the SI Sandy Relief Fund, a not-for-profit he formed in response to Hurricane Sandy. He is chairman of the group's board of directors and to-date has raised nearly $150,000. He also serves on the board of directors and as primary outside pro bono counsel to the Newark Mentorship Movement, a not-for-profit organization in New Jersey.
