Alex focuses her practice on complex commercial disputes. Prior to joining the firm, Alex clerked for the Honorable Sam A. Lindsay in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
Alex is currently seconded to the District Attorney’s Office of Dallas County.
In addition to her experience in commercial litigation, Alex has experience representing companies in patent litigation and white collar criminal investigations and prosecutions. She has worked on several trial teams, including last year on the Winston trial team that obtained a full acquittal for former DaVita CEO Kent Thiry in a landmark criminal antitrust prosecution of “no-poach” agreements. In the trial context, Alex has assisted with jury selection, opening statements, direct and cross examinations, and closing arguments. She has also assisted in preparing fact and expert witnesses for deposition and trial testimony, as well as witnesses in connection with government investigations. She has been significantly involved in the design of trial and hearing graphics to assist the judge and jury in understanding complex technologies, financial transactions, and other elements of trial and hearing presentations. Alex also has substantial experience in the planning and execution of jury research exercises including mock trials and focus groups.
Alex received her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 2018, where she was staff editor of the Texas Intellectual Property Law Journal. She received her B.A. from Stanford University in 2012.
