Frank is an experienced litigator who focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and class action lawsuits across various industries. He has significant experience in all phases of litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country.

Frank concentrates his practice on complex commercial litigation and putative class action lawsuits. He has significant experience in all aspects of litigation in federal and state courts throughout the country, as well as in commercial arbitration, including developing litigation strategies, conducting fact and expert discovery and depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and preparing for and participating in trials. On the complex commercial litigation front, Frank has experience defending corporations in a wide range of matters involving business tort disputes, contract disputes, and fraud. As for his class action work, Frank represents businesses in matters involving claims of consumer fraud, deceptive and unfair trade practices, mislabeling, and false or misleading advertising. Frank has also conducted multiple internal and regulatory investigations across various industries. His investigative experience aids in his ability to provide pragmatic litigation strategies to clients.

Key Matters

Class Action Litigation
  • Defending automobile manufacturer in several putative class action lawsuits alleging strict products liability, breach of warranty, fraud, unjust enrichment, and unfair and deceptive trade practices in connection with the manufacturing, advertising, marketing, and/or sale of the vehicles.
  • Defending multinational retail corporation in several putative consumer class action lawsuits filed throughout the United States, each alleging inaccurate pricing practices that allegedly violate consumer protection statutes, among other claims. Secured dismissal with prejudice in one case on plaintiffs’ original complaint.
  • Defending a convenience store chain in a national class action alleging “Greenwashing” as it relates to “recyclability” claims. Court granted, in substantial part, defendant’s motion to dismiss plaintiff’s complaint. The matter is ongoing.
Commercial and Business Litigation
  • Representing a multinational food processing and commodities trading company in a suite of class action lawsuits in Illinois federal court alleging that the company’s trading in ethanol and ethanol futures violated the Commodity Exchange Act and Sherman Act, along with several state-law claims.
  • Representing a U.S. pharmaceutical company in defense of antitrust actions commenced by the State Attorneys General for 48 states, multiple civil antitrust class actions and several direct actions.
  • Represented automobile manufacturer in arbitration proceedings alleging product strict products liability and negligence in connection with the manufacturing and/or sale of the vehicles. 
Regulatory and Internal Investigations
  • Represented multinational conglomerate company with several internal investigations all around the world, including domestically throughout the U.S., and in Saudi Arabia, Slovenia, UAE, Brazil, and other countries. 
  • Represented medical equipment manufacturer in internal investigation relating to regulatory compliance and assisted in the presentation of those findings from the investigation to the Board.

Frank is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, the Justinian Society of Lawyers, and the Illinois State Bar Association. 

Frank is also a member of the firm’s Summer Associate Committee. 

Frank maintains an active pro bono practice. He served as a leading member of the team that won a landmark case against the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This win led to our client becoming the first person in federal custody to receive gender-affirming surgery and one of the first federal prisoners to be transferred to a facility matching their gender identity.
