Winston Sponsors ABA Science and Technology Law Internet of Things (IoT) National Institute
May 9-10, 2018
Winston sponsored the American Bar Association Section of Science & Technology Law’s Internet of Things (IoT) National Institute, which took place on May 9-10 in Washington, D.C. The third Internet of Things National Institute provided insights and practical guidance on the latest legal, legislative, regulatory, and liability issues of the IoT transformation.
ITC Practice Chair Tom Jarvis spoke on a panel on May 9, titled “Demystifying IoT Technology: Beyond the Buzzwords.” Beyond what IoT means, this panel discussed new and emerging IoT technologies, how they revolutionize the public and private marketplaces, and what legal, regulatory, and technical challenges we face today and tomorrow. Spanning both the public and private sectors, IoT touches virtually every person, governmental entity, and company.
Tom has a top tier Chambers USA rating for his ITC representation of an “array of technology sector clients,” including leading designers and manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, smartphones, microprocessors, digital signal processors, memory devices, networking equipment, semiconductor fabrication processes and packaging, and various operating systems and application software.
