Winston Contributes United States Overview to GCR’s Private Litigation Guide
November 22, 2021
Winston & Strawn Partners Eva Cole and Jeffrey Amato co-authored a chapter titled “Collective or Class Actions and Claims Aggregation in the United States” for the third edition of Global Competition Review’s (GCR) Private Litigation Guide. This overview discusses how United States antitrust laws are enforced through private lawsuits and often through class actions, and the implications and significance of these highly complex cases.
GCR’s Private Litigation Guide explores key themes such as territoriality, causation, and proof of damages that are common to competition litigation around the world with jurisdictional overviews and Q&As. The editors of this publication note, “litigating antitrust or competition claims have become a global matter, requiring coordination among jurisdictions, and requiring counsel and clients to understand the rules and procedures in many different countries and how the approaches of courts differ as to key issues.”
