The Top 10 Privacy Changes in 2018 and What’s on the Horizon for 2019, Navigating Compliance in a Shifting Privacy Landscape
Webinar
January 23, 2019
Privacy regulations continued to remain in flux throughout 2018. Over the past 12 months, several sweeping new privacy laws have gone into effect across the globe (including GDPR as well as national privacy laws in Canada, China, and Vietnam), data breaches continued at an increasing pace, new technologies posed new opportunities and liabilities, and the U.S. Supreme Court issued one of the most important privacy decisions in decades. On top of all this, all signs point to continued changes in privacy law as California and the U.S. Federal government wrestle with broad privacy regulation, states continue to modify their breach notification requirements, and organizations anticipate an indication of how EU regulators will enforce GDPR.
On January 23, members of Winston’s Privacy Task Force, Alessandra Swanson, Shawn Obi, and Eric Shinabarger hosted an interactive webinar, as they looked back at 2018 and discussed what privacy trends to expect in the year to come.
