Paul Amiss Discusses SPACs Market in the UK

London Partner Paul Amiss recently spoke to The Financial Times about the market for special purpose acquisition companies (SPACs) in the UK.
Already widespread in the U.S., the London Stock Exchange is considering how to entice these companies to the UK, amid a lack of activity for the investment vehicles.
Paul outlines some of the risks of the model leading to reluctance amongst potential UK investors. He said, “if you’re a UK institutional shareholder looking at that model—whether you know what the US model is or not—it doesn’t appear to be terribly attractive unless the team is led by well-recognized superstars.”
