Partner Michael Rueckheim will speak at American Conference Institute’s 17th Global Summit on Life Sciences Patents Conference, in New York on May 16, 2019.
Mike will participate on a panel titled “New §101 Landscape: Exploring the Latest Developments at the PTO and District Court Relative to Patent Eligibility,’” which will analyze the USPTO’s newly released guidance on §101 and understanding its repercussions for patentability, examine the District Courts’ standard on §101 subject matter eligibility, discover whether a more stringent test is being proposed, explore the patent eligibility standard for the life sciences industries, discuss developing best practices in drafting patent claims to avoid unpatentable subject matter findings, evaluate the interaction between current subject matter eligibility guidance and the Federal Circuit’s decision in Vanda Pharmaceuticals Inc. v. West-Ward Pharmaceuticals, and discover whether recent decisions are favoring towards the influence of natural derivative.
