Navigating the Intersection of Advocacy and Professionalism
October 7, 2022
Lawyers are zealous advocates for their clients, but their advocacy is bound by the rules of the legal profession. Those rules, and attendant norms, limit the claims lawyers may bring, the arguments they may make, and how they advocate.
On October 7, Winston & Strawn’s Chicago office hosted a symposium that examined the intersection of advocacy and professionalism in election, family, and criminal law.
The event was sponsored by the University of Illinois College of Law and the Kimball R. and Karen Gatsis Anderson Center for Advocacy and Professionalism. Partner Kimball Anderson delivered the symposium’s opening remarks.
Coverage of this event was featured in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin.
