Environmental Litigation and Enforcement Practice Chair Jonathan D. Brightbill recently spoke with The Houston Chronicle to provide commentary regarding environmental reviews and the use of a tiered approach under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
The article “Crushed Turtles and Shrinking Wetlands: How the Proposed Ike Dike Could Affect Wildlife and Plants” focused on a proposed Army Corps of Engineers coastal spine project designed to protect Texas coastlines from future hurricane damage. Jonathan spoke extensively about NEPA, the steps federal agencies need to consider when assessing a project’s environmental impact, as well as NEPA’s differing levels of review.
