Jeffrey Kessler Featured on “The Closer” Podcast

Winston & Strawn Co-Executive Chairman Jeffrey Kessler, who led the Winston team that represented the U.S. Women’s National Soccer team in their class action lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation for institutionalized gender discrimination, was featured in an episode of “The Closer” podcast where he provided insight into the strategy behind the team’s fight for equal compensation and how they eventually closed the deal.

In the episode, Jeffrey discussed topics including the complaint initially filed with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the class action lawsuit filing, and the coordinated public strategies to rally the world around the players in the cause for equal pay. 

“It became a global issue. All the teams around the world supported the women, many prominent sponsors of U.S. Soccer decided that this was an issue that appealed to their consumers that they wanted to get behind this cause of equal pay and that compelling story was told,” Jeffrey said.
