Government Investigations and Prosecutions in the Media Age
September 17, 2018
White Collar, Regulatory Defense & Investigations Practice Co-Chair Abbe Lowell presented “Government Investigations and Prosecutions in the Media Age: Handling the court, the government, the press, and the marketplace in high-profile cases.” This seminar, held in our New York office, addressed conducting high-profile investigations and litigation and managing the media storm surrounding a major crisis. Abbe delved into a 10-point checklist covering the media-investigation-litigation lifecycle.
Abbe’s presentation was geared toward in-house legal professionals, business leaders, officers, and directors.
A cocktail reception followed the event.
Abbe is one of the country’s foremost white collar defense and trial lawyers. He has tried civil and criminal cases before judges and juries in more than a dozen states, argued numerous appeals before courts that include the U.S. Supreme Court, led complex international investigations, and navigated clients through congressional and administrative proceedings—all under intense public scrutiny. Abbe served as Chief Minority Counsel to the House of Representatives during the impeachment proceedings against President Bill Clinton. His recent representations include United States Senator of New Jersey Robert Menendez, Audi CEO Rupert Stadler, and Senior White House Adviser Jared Kushner.
