Winston Takes the Checkered Flag After “Massive Win” Settlement
Winston squared off in the W.D.N.C. against lawyers for NASCAR in an antitrust lawsuit brought on behalf of racing teams Front Row Motorsports Inc. and 23X1 Racing LLC—the team co-owned by Michael Jordan and driver Denny Hamlin—alleging monopolization of the market for premier stock car racing teams. On December 11, 2025, nine days into trial and the morning after the plaintiffs rested their case, the parties jointly announced a settlement. Jeffrey Kessler and Jeanifer Parsigian were recognized by American Lawyer with its top “Litigator of the Week” honors on December 19, 2025, for this historic settlement.

Winston and co-counsel helped the three major credit bureaus—Equifax, TransUnion and Experian—defeat claims they colluded with credit score provider FICO to cause consumers to overpay for credit scores. U.S. District Judge Edmond Chang in the N. D. Ill. found that the plaintiffs hadn’t adequately alleged that the credit bureaus entered into a conspiracy to further FICO’s alleged monopoly and dismissed the claims against them with prejudice. Winston’s successful defense of Equifax was recognized by American Lawyer in its Litigator of the Week column on December 3, 2024.

Winston represented FreshEdge, a super-regional distributor of customized fresh food solutions backed by Wind Point Partners, in its acquisition of fresh produce distributor Frontier Produce (Frontier) and related businesses. Frontier complements FreshEdge’s recent Arkansas acquisition of KT Produce and expands its geographic presence to the west of the existing network. This acquisition provides additional capacity and geographic opportunity to better serve the combined customer base.

Ross Greenspan Discusses Private Equity Continuation Vehicles with Cash and Carried
Winston & Strawn’s Ross Greenspan was quoted in a Cash and Carried article examining the rapid growth of continuation vehicles (CVs) and their evolving role in private equity liquidity and GP‑LP alignment. Most CV transactions allow existing LPs to choose from several options, including a full sale for liquidity, a reinvestment into the CV, or a combination of the two through a partial option. A subset of deals extend a “status quo option,” permitting LPs to stay in the existing vehicle or roll into the CV on the same economic terms of the existing vehicle.

Ashley Chung Joins Winston in Chicago
Winston & Strawn recently announced that Ashley Chung has rejoined the firm’s Chicago office as a partner in the Litigation Department and a member of its Appellate & Critical Motions practice after serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney. During her tenure at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Illinois, Ashley prosecuted more than 50 cases, including public corruption, financial fraud, money laundering, child exploitation, and violent crime matters. She oversaw and determined strategy from the investigative stage through charging, pre-trial litigation, plea negotiations or trials, and sentencings. Prior to her public service, Ashley worked on complex commercial litigation, white-collar and regulatory-facing matters, and internal investigations.

Winston Represents Former FirstEnergy Executive in Ohio Bribery Trial
A Winston team led by Steve Grimes represented former FirstEnergy Vice President of External Affairs Mike Dowling in an eight-week jury trial arising from what prosecutors described as the “largest bribery scandal in Ohio history.” Based on the defense put forward, the jury was unable to convict Mr. Dowling resulting in a hung jury.
