Winston & Strawn Advises Exelon in Sale of Power Plants
Winston & Strawn’s representation of Exelon was mentioned in the August 21, 2012 The Deal Pipeline article titled “Exelon sheds interests in five power plants.” The article discusses Exelon’s recent sale of five California power plants to IHI corporation of Tokyo. Exelon acquired the plants earlier in the year with their March 2012 purchase of Constellation Energy Group Inc. Exelon CEO and president Christopher Clause said that keeping the power plants was not consistent with Exelon’s long-term growth strategy. Exelon was represented by Winston & Strawn partner Jonathan Birenbaum.
