Lydia is a litigation associate in Washington, D.C., focusing on biopharmaceutical and biosimilar patent litigation. Her interdisciplinary practice draws on experience as a regulatory manager for oncology clinical trials at a major academic cancer center, work with the CDC’s Global Health Center, and service at a non-profit organization dedicated to patient care innovation. Lydia maintains a strong commitment to pro bono work and advancing healthcare access for underserved and rural communities.

Prior to joining the firm, Lydia worked as the GI Program Regulatory Compliance Manager for the University of Chicago Medicine’s Comprehensive Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office, where she oversaw over 100 active clinical trials during the COVID-19 pandemic. She also worked as a Research Assistant at the American Bar Foundation and Northwestern University. Lydia summered at another major law firm in Philadelphia before first joining Winston’s Chicago office as a summer associate.

During law school, Lydia was an extern with the CDC’s Public Health Law Program (Global Health Center & Office of the Associate Director for Policy). She developed the Legal Preparedness Framework Guide to align emergency management functions with international standards and analyzed public health and emergency management laws across WHO Member States.

At Perelman School of Medicine, Lydia worked as a Research Assistant for the Rare Disease Drug Development Group, where she developed R scripts to analyze Orphanet data on rare genetic disorders.

Lydia has over two years of experience as a Legal Intern with the Healthcare Quality Improvement Platform (HQUIP), working closely with physician-attorneys at Direct Primary Care Frontier. In this role, she researched legal and regulatory challenges impacting medical care delivery to rural and Tribal self-pay, uninsured, and underinsured patients, including issues related to the HITECH Act, HHS OCR enforcement, and patient access to health information.

Most recently, she presented Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 pandemic response to leaders from Tokyo iCDC and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. Lydia’s diverse experiences have given her a deep familiarity with, and passion for, supporting medical-legal partnerships.

Lydia earned her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School in 2025 and her Master of Bioethics (M.B.E.) from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2025. At Penn Carey Law, she was a Dean’s Fellow Scholar, served as Associate and Senior Editor of the Journal of Constitutional Law, and was Advocacy Director of the Health Law and Policy Project. She was also named Toll Public Interest Center Volunteer of the Year in 2025 and selected as a Philadelphia Diversity Law Group Fellow in 2023. Lydia received her B.A. in English Literature, Legal Studies, and Classics-Latin from Northwestern University in 2021, where she was named to the Dean’s List, graduated with Honors with Distinction in Legal Studies, and received the Robert Mayo Prize and Creative Writing Prize for Fiction in English Literature.
