Sofia focuses her practice on antitrust and competition and intellectual property matters, with a particular focus on technology.

As a former Winston summer associate, Sofia has worked on a variety of antitrust and patent litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Sofia was a legal intern at the Brooklyn Law Incubator & Policy (“BLIP”) Clinic, where she co-authored and submitted a Supreme Court amicus brief in the case Thaler v. Vidal, urging the Court to review the Federal Circuit’s decision denying patent protection to AI-generate inventions. Through BLIP, she also successfully appealed a decision by the U.S. Copyright Office and secured a copyright registration for a novel that was produced with the aid of an artificial-intelligence system. Sofia also interned at an intellectual property law firm based in New York, where she conducted trademark clearance searches and risk analysis, and drafted legal documents related to intellectual property protection. Sofia worked as a commercial litigation and forensics services intern at a global advisory firm, where she assisted with Chapter 11 bankruptcy litigations and conducted internal audits and risk assessments for international financial institutions. She also served as a judicial intern for Honorable Edwina G. Richardson at the Office for Justice Initiatives in New York.
