Eric focuses his litigation practice in defending clients against antitrust, copyright, and consumer protection claims. Prior to joining the firm, he was a Judicial Extern to the Honorable R. Gary Klausner in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

In representing his clients, Eric has experience in many stages of litigation, including complex written discovery, discovery motions, second-chairing depositions, and dispositive motions. Eric has achieved a full dismissal with prejudice and a grant of asylum for one of the firm’s pro bono clients.

While in law school, Eric served as a judicial extern, during which he drafted memorandum orders and analyzed precedential cases on a broad range of civil litigation topics. In addition, he participated in the Moot Court Honors Program, the Mediation Clinic, and the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles.

Key Matters

Eric has contributed to the following representations:

  • Defended a major financial institution against a nationwide class action that challenged out-of-network fees from millions of transactions conducted at independent ATMs with allegedly misleading screen prompts. In a case with potentially significant industry implications, the court granted our motion for summary judgment in full and denied class certification in its entirety.
  • Secured dismissal with prejudice of copyright infringement claims brought by a filmmaker against a multinational entertainment company.
  • Represented a content delivery network services company in copyright infringement claims that were voluntarily dismissed by models after the closure of fact discovery.
  • Secured a grant of legal asylum for one of the firm’s pro bono clients by proving, among other things, that the government of her country of origin was unwilling or unable to control a non-governmental actor from continuing to persecute her.
  • Representing eight defendants in a multidistrict litigation alleging numerous state and federal antitrust claims and pending in the Northern District of Illinois. His experience in the case ranges across motion practice, significant discovery practice, deposition preparation, and second-chairing depositions.
