Kent is an attorney with the litigation group. He previously clerked at the federal district and federal appellate levels and draws on that experience to help clients address complex issues at trial with an eye toward appellate issues that might emerge down the line.

As a judicial law clerk at the federal district court level, Kent assisted in resolving motions at all stages of litigation, including pre-trial discovery, motions practice, evidentiary disputes at trial, and post-trial motions. Kent helped draft orders resolving numerous motions to dismiss and motions for summary judgment, including, but not limited to, contract, tort, employment, civil RICO, and civil rights cases. As a judicial law clerk at the federal appellate level, Kent researched difficult issues, including complex constitutional and jurisdictional issues, and assisted in drafting opinions and memorandum dispositions.

Education

Kent received his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2021, where he was an editor on the Virginia Law Review and a Karsh-Dillard Scholar.  He received his B.A., magna cum laude, in English from Northwestern University in 2018.
