Scott’s practice focuses on sports, antitrust, and labor law. He regularly represents athletes and other high profile sports industry clients in litigation and arbitration.
Scott's practice focuses on sports, antitrust, and labor law. Scott was a member of the Alston v. NCAA team which won a landmark 9-0 victory before the United States Supreme Court in 2021. As part of his college sports work, Scott also regularly counsels clients on name, image, and likeness (NIL) laws and policies, and he currently represents Plaintiffs in House v. NCAA. Scott also represented the U.S. Women’s National Team in its lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation that culminated in a historic settlement guaranteeing equal pay and working conditions between the men’s and women’s soccer teams. Scott also represents the North American Soccer League in its antitrust case against the Federation.
Scott has served as counsel to the NFL Players Association in litigation (such as Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott’s challenge to the Commissioner’s Article 46 powers), arbitration (such as the Union’s challenge to the League’s National Anthem policy), and collective bargaining. He also advises multiple prominent ATP tennis tournaments. On a pro bono basis, Scott represented bilateral amputee world champion sprinter Blake Leeper before the Court of Arbitration for Sport. In addition to his sports law practice, Scott is a member of the firm’s Videogame, Gaming, and E-sports Group dedicated to providing comprehensive legal solutions to companies in these industries.
As part of the Alston team, Scott’s work was recognized as one of the National Impact Cases of the Year at the 2022 Benchmark Litigation East Coast Awards and won the Global Competition Review (GCR’s) 2022 “Litigation of the Year: Cartel Prosecution” award.
In February 2022, Scott was among the team of lawyers named as runners-up for “Litigator of the Week” by The American Lawyer for the landmark settlement of their lawsuit seeking to equalize pay and working conditions between the men’s and women’s U.S. national soccer teams.
At Winston, Scott is part of the sports law group that was named “Law Firm of the Year” for its Sports Law Practice in the 2018, 2020, 2021, and 2022 editions of U.S. News and World Report – Best Law Firms, as well as the “Antitrust – Litigation” group that was named “Law Firm of the Year” in the 2020 edition of the Report and the 2020 Antitrust Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation.
Scott was named to the 2020 Forbes “30 Under 30” list in the “Sports” category. While at Harvard Law School, he received the 2017 Weiler Award for Excellence in Sports Law.

Scott received a B.A., magna cum laude, in History from Harvard College in 2013, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and a J.D. in 2017 from Harvard Law School, where he was Co-Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Sports and Entertainment Law and President of the Committee on Sports and Entertainment Law.
