TD is a is a technology strategist who combines technical and legal training to focus on patent litigation and post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent Office including inter partes review (IPR) and patent reexamination. TD has deep-seated knowledge of technologies based on his engineering backgrounds in the industry and academia. 

TD's industry experience and doctoral work was in the field of wireless communications. During graduate school, he authored several technical articles and papers that have been published in scholarly journals and conferences. After graduate school, TD worked as a post-doctoral associate with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation before starting his career in patent law.

TD Goswami is a technology strategist with a business focus. He has over 11 years of patent law experience in emerging technologies related to cloud computing, client-server architectures, 4G/5G wireless, computer networks, cybersecurity, man-machine interface, AI, IoT, unmanned vehicular systems, data science, Internet/electronic/mobile commerce, financial technologies, and social media technologies, among others. He has prosecuted, provided litigation support, and counseled clients regarding patents. TD has a business-centered focus with an eye towards advising clients with strategies that align litigation and post-grant proceedings in line with clients’ business interests.

TD’s experience includes providing litigation support by conducting infringement analysis, drafting briefs, non-infringement opinions, prior art invalidity charts, prosecution history estoppel summaries, and claim charts. He has worked with litigation teams on post-grant practices such as re-examinations and inter partes reviews. TD has also performed due diligence investigations in support of acquisitions and public offerings, he has conducted landscape, patentability, and freedom-to-operate searches, drafted expert opinions, and provided IP competitive intelligence to clients in support of monetization and expansion of clients’ patent portfolio.

Prior to joining Winston, TD worked at nationally ranked general-practice firms in Patent Law.

Education

TD received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2003. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida in 2009.

TD is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
