Chase serves financial institutions and other corporate clients in a variety of civil litigation and regulatory matters. He has defended national banks in class actions, governmental enforcement actions, and lawsuits brought by sophisticated investment groups. He individually represented a major credit reporting agency in several lawsuits arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Chase has also participated in several internal investigations both domestically and overseas.

In addition to representing clients facing active lawsuits or investigations, Chase also helps companies think strategically about complex legal, contractual, and regulatory issues, to help them avoid litigation in the first place. For example, he has helped several large companies weigh the legal and contractual implications of contemplated M&A activity. He has counseled clients on compliance with state and federal consumer protection laws, including regulations promulgated by the U.S. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. He also advised a consumer finance investment company on legal and regulatory risks associated with purchasing portfolios of various types of consumer loans.
