Patrick Clark

Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, Patrick was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rodney Gilstrap, the Honorable Thad Heartfield, and the Honorable Keith Giblin in the Eastern District of Texas. He also externed for the Honorable Jane Magnus-Stinson in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. While clerking, Patrick worked on numerous jury and bench trials and supported all phases of litigation, assisting with pretrial conferences, claim construction hearings, motion hearings, evidentiary hearings, and case management. Before clerking, Patrick worked for Rolls-Royce North America drafting technical contracts for aircraft engines and engine-maintenance programs, providing him with practical insight into complex technologies. Patrick draws on his judicial and technical experiences to guide and advocate for clients through each phase of litigation, which includes developing persuasive motion practice, conducting depositions, advocating in court, and preparing matters for trial.
