Patrick is a litigation associate in the firm’s Dallas office, focusing his practice on a wide array of litigation matters, including patent and complex commercial litigation. Patrick began his legal career in the courtroom, amassing invaluable courtroom experience in a wide variety of civil and criminal matters while clerking for multiple judges in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. The breadth of Patrick’s experience and knowledge, gained through his background in the judiciary, enables him to advocate for his clients in a highly effective manner.

Prior to joining Winston & Strawn, Patrick was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Rodney Gilstrap, the Honorable Thad Heartfield, and the Honorable Keith Giblin in the Eastern District of Texas. He also externed for the Honorable Jane Magnus-Stinson in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. While clerking, Patrick worked on numerous jury trials and bench trials, including patent trials, and was involved with all phases of litigation, assisting with pretrial conferences, claim construction hearings, motion hearings, evidentiary hearings, and case management.

Patrick received his J.D., summa cum laude, and Corporate and Commercial Law Graduate Certificate from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2020, graduating in the top 3 percent of his class. While in law school, Patrick was the executive articles development editor for the Indiana International & Comparative Law Review, a Fellow for the Program on Law and State Government, and team captain for the American Bar Association Law Student Tax Challenge. He earned his B.A., cum laude, from Butler University in 2017.
