
Mick Borchert
Associate
Mick is a litigation associate who handles a variety of matters.
Mick’s experience spans the litigation lifecycle and is informed by his time clerking for the Honorable Embry J. Kidd of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. He has worked with clients in various industries as part of his practice.
Prior to joining Winston, Mick was a law clerk for the U.S. Department of Justice’s FTCA Section, analyzing tort claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act. He also gained valuable experience as a student attorney in his law school’s Tenant Advocacy Clinic.

Education
Mick earned his J.D. from Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, cum laude, in 2023. While in law school, he served as an executive editor for the Northwestern University Law Review and Treasurer for the First Generation Law Students Association. He also worked as a student attorney in the Bluhm Legal Clinic’s Tenant Advocacy Clinic. Mick received his B.A. in English and his certificate in medieval studies, with distinction, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2019.
