Ashley is a former federal prosecutor and skilled appellate and trial lawyer, with over a decade of experience at the intersection of complex litigation, courtroom advocacy, and legal strategy.

Ashley has authored and edited more than 40 appellate briefs before the U.S. Court of Appeals and has argued eight federal appeals in the Seventh Circuit. She also has first or second chaired multiple jury trials and a bench trial, handling jury addresses, witness examinations, and pre- and post-trial briefing. She leverages her extensive appellate and trial experience, and her skills in oral and written advocacy, to help clients successfully navigate high-stakes legal matters.

Ashley served for over six years as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) in the Northern District of Illinois, including as Deputy Chief of Appeals. In that role, she supervised the Office’s criminal appellate practice and advised trial teams and other supervisors and prosecutors on dispositive motions, jury instructions, evidentiary disputes, and other key legal issues at every stage of litigation. During her time with the Department of Justice, Ashley prosecuted over 50 cases—spanning fraud, public-corruption, cyberstalking, money-laundering, child-exploitation, and RICO matters—and handled dozens of evidentiary hearings, arguments on contested motions, sentencings, and other critical court proceedings.

Ashley previously practiced at Winston as a litigation associate and clerked for Judge Joel M. Flaum of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and Judge Gary Feinerman of U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
