Winston’s Bank Receiverships Task Force Highlighted in Law360

Winston & Strawn’s newly established Bank Receiverships Task Force was highlighted in a Law360 article discussing various law firms’ response to recent bank failures in order to assist clients with navigating the current uncertainty in the banking industry. 

Winston created the Bank Receiverships Task Force, led by partner Carl Fornaris, and staffed with senior attorneys from practices such as bankruptcy and restructuring, consumer finance, litigation, and transactions. 

The task force members, many of whom were advising clients on similar issues during the Savings and Loan Crisis of the late 1980s/early 1990s and the Financial Crisis of 2008-2009, have experience providing guidance on the special rights and obligations that may arise from federal regulators crafting a bank receivership process, and how the former officers and directors of distressed banks can deal with claims by shareholders, regulators and customers, according to the firm.
